Accuride Sells Truck Seating Unit to CVG

Commercial Vehicle Group said Jan. 31 it bought heavy-duty truck seating unit Bostrom Seating from fellow compoent maker Accuride Corp., for $8.8 million.

Bostrom, which supplies the North American heavy-duty truck, aftermarket, bus and specialty vehicle markets. has a manufacturing facility in Piedmont, Ala., that employs about 135 people and an engineering office in Wixom, Mich.

The acquisition “further expands our North American presence in certain key end markets and enhances our overall aftermarket position,� Mervin Dunn, CVG’s president, said in a statement.

“While Bostrom is a solid company . . . the seating market is inconsistent with our focus on structural, drivetrain, and wheel-end products for commercial vehicles,� said Accuride CEO Bill Lasky.
