C.H. Robinson Acquires Produce Company

Third-party logistics company C.H. Robinson said Tuesday it has acquired produce provider Timco Worldwide. Terms were not disclosed.

Timco provides retail and club store customers with watermelons, cantaloupes, honeydews and mixed melons. The company’s growing network operates in 10 states and five countries.

In a statement, Jim Lemke, C.H. Robinson’s senior vice president, said “Timco’s approach to seed development, technology and customer account management is a synergistic fit with C.H. Robinson’s existing grower network and customer programs.�

C.H. Robinson Co. is a subsidiary of C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc., which is ranked No. 8 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in the United States and Canada.
