Pacer Posts First-Quarter Profit

Pacer International said Thursday it posted a first-quarter profit compared with a loss a year ago.

Pacer earned $2 million, or 6 cents a share, compared with a loss of $500,000, or 1 cent, a year ago. Revenue slipped to $358.4 million, from $363.7 million.

Income from operations rose to $3.9 million, up from $600,000 a year ago, the transportation and third-party logistics firm said.

Earlier this month, Pacer appointed Daniel Gardner to lead its international business unit.
