Werner Enterprisesâ€™ first-quarter earnings rose 50% on higher freight shipments.
Net income rose to $16.3 million, or 22 cents a share, from $10.8 million, or 15 cents, a year ago.
Revenue rose 10% to $469.4 million, while excluding fuel surcharges, revenue rose 4%.
Revenue per total mile was up 4.5% from the last yearâ€™s first quarter, the truckload carrier said late Wednesday.
