Werner's Fourth-Quarter Profit Improves

Werner Enterprises’ fourth-quarter net income rose to $29.4 million, or 40 cents per share, from $24.1 million, or 33 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 10% to $507.9 million, the truckload carrier said late Thursday.

Full-year net income rose to $102.8 million, or $1.40 per share, from $80 million, or $1.10. Revenue rose 10% to $1.8 million.

Its fourth-quarter brokerage revenue rose 19% year-over-year, while intermodal revenue jumped 75%. Logistics revenues increased 52%, the company said. 

Werner Enterprises is ranked No. 11 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
